Zitron Trekking XXL socks

Zitron Trekking XXL socks

Started 1/2/08- finished 1/14/08. knit in Trekking XXL color 100, dye lot 8175 on 2.5mm needles. this sock has a picot cast on worked on 2.0mm needles for the inside portion and changed to 2.5mm needles after working the picot round. i knit straight for 6 inches, worked a short row heel and worked the foot until just about 1.5 inches before the end of the toe. I decreased every round until i had 20 total stitches remaining, and seamed the toe with the kitchener stitch. it's my basic sock.

Pricilla's Dream Socks

Pricilla's Dream Socks

from the "Favorite Socks" book. knit with ShiBui sock yarn (2 hanks) on 2.5mm needles in about a week. I finished this sock on 1/21/08. I worked the 2x2 rib for 3.5'', then changed to straight stitch for 3.5''. Per the pattern, I worked 14 ankle rounds, and then worked the short row heel, decreasing until I had 14 stitches between wrapped stitch pairs. then I knit for about 7.5 inches, and used the short row toe knitting until i had the same number of unwrapped stitches between pairs as I had for the toe. I decided to graft the toe, which was a bit of a pain, but feels much better than the zig-zag cast off. Less bulk.
over all, a really nice sock!

Elegant Ribbed Stockings

Elegant Ribbed Stockings

cast on 2/2/08. completed 2/13/08. i knit these exactly as written (except for the heel which i knit using a short row heel instead of the heel flap). the pattern called for 4 balls of Heilo by Dale of Norway and each sock used about 1 and 3/4 of the alloted 2 balls of yarn. they knit up very fast, and have the eyelets for future ribbons. i hope that after a soak, the yarn will soften up. if not, i'll have to knit them again out of some other yarn. over all, i loved this pattern! (has anyone noticed that i have only knit socks this year so far?)

Peter Pan

Peter Pan

Cast on 2/25/08, finished 2/26/08. baby socks knit for my friend's new baby. pattern is my own using a cable motif adapted from Vogue Knitting, Ultimate Knitting Book. used Lorna's Laces sock yarn in a striped color that is listed in my Ravelry stash.

Cristina's Wedding Shawl

Cristina's Wedding Shawl

I started this in late October and it hit a lull for a bit. Finally finished the shawl in March, and her new owner couldn't be happier. knit with 3.25mm needles and about 1.5 balls of Misti Alpaca Lace Weight yarn. Really tedious to knit through all the strait stitch, but well worth it in the final result.

Mom's Boyfriend socks

Mom's Boyfriend socks

I knit these in just about a week. Made from Glimmer yarn 100% alpaca, as mom is sensitive to wool. Knit toe up as the pattern calls for, but subbing in a short row heel with yarn overs instead of the wrap and turn, and worked just about 1.5 inches after turning the heel, per mom's request. These are really lovely!

Socks for Seeley

Socks for Seeley

socks for seeley. pattern is the retro rib socks from Favorite Socks. knit on 2.5mm circular needles using the magic loop. knit from the toe up to be sure that there would be enough yarn. yarn is Trekking XXL. these were knit for a knit-along in my Bones Ravelry group. we're mailing them to the show and hope that they'll get worn in a taping.
